Overview
Procedure for Forced Start and Recovery of Tibero in Case of Data File Loss (NOARCHIVELOG + NO BACKUP)
If a data file is deleted at the OS level during Tibero operation or while offline due to OS failure or administrator error, and there is no backup with a NOARCHIVELOG setting, the lost data cannot be recovered, and normal database startup is impossible.
Caution
This method is a last resort that permanently abandons the lost data and may compromise data consistency.
This document clearly states that lost data cannot be recovered and describes how to urgently start the database in a state where normal startup is impossible, in order to secure service availability.
Method
Pre-Installation Environment Settings
The test results are described for Rocky Linux release 8.10 (Green Obsidian) environment, and some commands/options may differ in other Unix environments.
Issue
ANY symptoms where data files are deleted without backup or ARCHIVE available
(Examples)
- DB shutdown caused by cluster operation during additional DATAFILE creation in an HA environment
- 2. OS-level deletion of data files during operation/non-operation
Scenario
Please refer to the attached document.
