Overview
This document explains how to set the number of processes per OS user when installing Tibero in an AIX (5.3, 6.1, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3) environment.
Method
In the AIX environment, you can adjust the number of processes per user using the smitty utility.
If you start Tibero with a large MAX_SESSION_COUNT value, the database may not start properly if the process count per OS user is not set sufficiently.
In this case, change the parameter values following the procedure below.
How to Change Parameter Values
Use the smitty utility to change the user limits.
Example
/usr/bin/smit
$ smitty => In Smit system, go to Change / Show characteristics of Operating System menu => Set Maximum number of PROCESSES allowed per user ( This means the number of processes a specific user can use ) |
