Issue Information
| Incident Number | 701437a |
| Issue | Fixes an issue in which buffer expansion does not occur properly when the buffer size for storing oldcol values is insufficient in the existing oldcol validation logic. In addition, although the oldcol validation logic for regular tables was modified to support changes to the maximum varchar size, those modifications were not applied to the IOT oldcol validation logic, resulting in data being copied to an incorrect address. |
| Cause | There was an error in the logic for calculating the remaining space in the buffer used to store existing column values. After the maximum VARCHAR size was expanded beyond the block size, the functionality based on the existing 4,000-byte limit was not modified to accommodate the expanded block size. |
| Solutions | Modify the logic to accurately calculate the remaining space in the buffer used to store existing column values. Apply the improvements to the existing column validation logic for regular tables to the existing column validation logic for IOTs (index-organized tables) as well. |
