Overview
This document explains the method to switch TSC from no observer to observer in an AIX environment.

Method
1. Shut down the operating TSC No observer
Shut down standby node $ tbdown immediate Shut down primary node $ tbdown immediate
2. Add observer OS account
1) Create observer account on Standby Node
$ useradd -g dba obs
2) Create tibero7 binaries for observer account
$ su - obs $ gzip -dc tibero7-bin-FS02_PS02-aix_7.1-281152-20241024103828.tar.gz | tar xvf -
3) Set observer .profile
export TB_HOME=/home/obs/tibero7 export TB_PROF_DIR=$TB_HOME/bin/prof export PATH=.:$TB_HOME/bin:$TB_HOME/client/bin:$JAVA_HOME:$PATH export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$TB_HOME/lib:$TB_HOME/client/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH ### Cluster Manager ENV export CM_HOME=$TB_HOME export CM_SID=observer
3. Add parameters to primary db tip file
1) Primary Node

4. Add cm.tip
1) Primary DB
vi $TB_HOME/config/primary.tip CM_NAME=primary CM_UI_PORT=33039 CM_RESOURCE_FILE=/data/pub1/kiw/tsc/tibero7/config/cm_res.ref CM_HEARTBEAT_EXPIRE=300 CM_WATCHDOG_EXPIRE=290
2) Standby DB
vi $TB_HOME/config/standby.tip CM_NAME=standby CM_UI_PORT=33039 CM_RESOURCE_FILE=/data/pub1/kiw/tsc/tibero7/config/cm_res.ref CM_HEARTBEAT_EXPIRE=300 CM_WATCHDOG_EXPIRE=290
3) Observer cm.tip
vi $TB_HOME/config/observer.tip CM_NAME=observer CM_MODE_OBSERVER=Y CM_OBSERVER_PORT=5310 CM_UI_PORT=55039
4. Configure tbdsn.tbr
1) Primary Node
$ vi $TB_HOME/client/config/tbdsn.tbr
tsc1=(
(INSTANCE=(HOST=localhost)
(PORT=3310)
(DB_NAME=tsc)
)

2) Standby Node
$ vi $TB_HOME/client/config/tbdsn.tbr
tsc2=(
(INSTANCE=(HOST=localhost)
(PORT=3310)
(DB_NAME=tsc)

$ tbcm -b $ cmrctl
