Issue
In MOUNT Mode, when two or more instances are configured for the alias
tbdsn.tbr, attempting to connect using that alias may sometimes result in the TBR-12050 Connection error. Connect to a different server. error being thrown.NoteThis error is a normal message that occurs to prevent user confusion when the target instance for connection is unclear.
Cause
When connecting using an alias in MOUNT Mode, the instance configured for that alias must be unique. However, in MOUNT Mode, the alias for tbdsn.tbr had two or more instances configured, causing the Connection error.
Solutions
To connect using an alias in MOUNT Mode, configure only one instance for that alias to resolve the
TBR-12050 Connection error. Connect to a different server. error.( Open the
tbdsn.tbr file to check the alias settings and remove any unnecessarily duplicated instance entries. )
